Abstract
|
|
|
Xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis is characterized by multiple yellowish nodules and secondary inflammatory changes as necrotic area or abscess cavity grossly, and by infiltration of macrophage, mononuclear cell, and rarely giant cell microscopically. Also, this disease is a rare condition, which has been misdiagnosed as other renal disease such as renal tuberculosis or renal
carcinoma of clear cell type in literatures. A case of xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis is added to the literature.
